What is SEO?

Search Engine Optimization – SEO – makes websites search engine friendly and helps you rank higher in search results. The ultimate goal of search engine optimization design is to help more visitors find your site. Site search engine optimization requires familiarity with HTML, and much of the search engine optimization keyword process involves copywriting techniques for SEO.

Search engine optimization ranking for generic, common keywords can take significant investments of time, effort and money. Many find that their business is better suited to more narrow SEO keywords that are specific to their business proposition, location, and key benefits.

Following all of the rules, like search engine optimization placement, doesn’t necessarily mean you will skyrocket to the front page of search results. SEO takes time to gain legitimacy before you see results – anywhere from six to nine months, in fact. Anyone who tells you differently has something to sell, and their techniques won’t garner long-term results for you. Worse, they could actually penalize your status with search engines.

It’s essential to work with professionals who understand how the search engine optimization business works and can implement the methods that provide the greatest possible results for search engine optimization.

Why do I need SEO?

Did you know that search engines drive more than all half of traffic on the web? If you want more people to find your site, you need SEO. Many ask, “ How do I get to the top of Google?” If you’re taking the time to read this, chances are you’ve heard about SEO and know it’s important, but want to know more before taking the next step. So why do you need SEO? Simply put, to achieve the goals of your website. Whether your website aims to make an online sale, bring prospects into your store or to gain their contact information, none of those objectives can be accomplished if no one finds your website.

SEO helps to rank your website higher within search engine results. The majority of web traffic is driven by search engines, and most users never search through the third page of search results… if they click past the first page of results at all! It’s essential you appear in these results. The outcome: people who are actually searching for your products and services are able to find you through your initiative in search engine optimization.

How often do I need to update my website for SEO?

SEO can be enhanced by updating the content on your website. The more you update your website, utilizing keywords, the more attention you will receive from search engines like www.google.com and www.yahoo.com. One of the most effective ways to update your website with content (and attract visitors) is to implement a blog.

There is no set timeline for how often your website should be updated to attract high search listings, but updating twice a month will help to optimize your search engine results.

The most significant thing to remember when considering updates to your website is to keep the content relevant to your audience.

How does Social Media impact SEO?

Social media campaigns can help drive awareness, gain traffic to your website and trigger inbound links. There is a strong relationship between social media and SEO, because it drives awareness and prompts more people to search directly for your brand, product or website. Plus, social is all about sharing. One of the most valuable components of search engine optimization is legitimate link sharing, which is a key factor that search engines look at when determining page ranks.

However, social media is not a search strategy in and of itself. Rather, it is best utilized as an integrated approach, including paid search, SEO and social media.

What is the difference between On-page SEO and Off-page SEO?

On-page SEO and Off-page SEO are two separate components, but both are crucial to optimizing your search engine rankings.

On-page SEO refers to what you can do with the design of your website to enhance your rankings. This includes page titles, meta tags, domain names, strategic keyword use, placement and more. Whether it is used within the site’s content or its HTML, on-page SEO is critical to an SEO strategy.

Off-page SEO is, simply put, the practice of getting links from another website back to your site. Search engines give the most legitimacy to backlinks that come from credible, authoritative sites that already rank highly in search. The more links that come to your site from a trusted website, the biggest difference it will make for your search rankings.

Why do search engines change the rules of SEO?

The rules of SEO change every time a major search engine alters its algorithm. Search engines are aware that SEO experts work to increase their rankings by playing to the specifications of current algorithms, so they progressively update the rules to keep their results as legitimate as possible. Consumers demand relevant results of search engines, so it is vital that the results that populate are appropriate. Search engines change the rules of SEO to deliver the most applicable search results to consumers, rather than the search results that have been optimized for SEO.
