Tricks That Will Make You Shine in Your Next Video Meeting

Feeling cool and confident in a video meeting can feel a little “ruff” around the edges.

Fortunately, there are easy ways to improve your screen presence and take advantage of a powerful tool that can help you build stronger relationships while working from home. Here are a few tips on making the most out of your next video meeting.

Tool for removing background noise

You can now use an artificial intelligence plug-in that will get rid of all background noise including kids, dogs, outside sounds and more. If you're working in a public environment, it's a great tool, and it's super affordable: Krisp.ai.

Touch up appearance

In Zoom, you can use AI to touch up your appearance. Go to Settings > Video, check “Touch up my appearance,” and Zoom will soften the focus on your camera, theoretically minimizing any issues with your skin.

Virtual Background feature

Don’t have a presentable home office? The Virtual Background feature allows you to display an image or video as your background during a Zoom Meeting.

Mute Microphone

When not speaking, be sure to mute your microphone to avoid bringing sudden noise or static to the call. Pay attention so you don’t forget to turn it back on when it’s your time to speak.

Record Meetings

Don’t want to slow things down by taking notes? You can record a video meeting and get it transcribed, or save it as a reference for later. For sales meetings, a recording can be a great tool for trainees or can serve as a potential case study for later (with permission from the participant).

Screen Sharing

Screen sharing during an online meeting allows you to bring everyone together to generate new ideas and even collaborate on documents in real-time.
