After tracking the data, Marmer found the optimal number of times to post on Facebook is 2-5 times a week. She said each post only got an average of one click, but if a business posted over 5 times a week then each post would only average half a click. According to Marmer,

"Facebook prioritizes 'fresh' content and doesn’t want to overwhelm users with just one company in their feed, so when companies publish more than once in a day, their first post can be cannibalized by the second."

While the data didn't show much difference in the success of a post from day-to-day, Marmer's study showed it was slightly more beneficial to post on Sundays and there was slightly less engagement on Fridays and Saturdays.
